Our Mission

Santa America brings Love, Hope, and Joy—wrapped in a warm Santa hug—to children and families in need, 365 days a year.

We serve children facing grief, chronic or life-threatening illnesses, PTSD, or developmental challenges. Wherever we’re needed—at home, in hospitals, hospices, or shelters—our trained Santa volunteers are there to offer comfort, compassion, and connection.

Core Mission: Love, Hope, and Joy, Every Day of the Year

At the heart of Santa America is our unwavering commitment to visiting children and families experiencing:

Grief or bereavement

Chronic or terminal pediatric illness

PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Developmental or sensory sensitivities

Santa brings comfort and companionship, creating lasting memories through personalized visits—at any time of year, not just Christmas.

Santas S.U.B.s (Socks, Underwear & Belts)

Making It a Better Day

Santa America volunteers collect and distribute new socks, underwear, and belts for elementary and preschool-aged children in underserved communities. These essentials are delivered to:

Schools with high rates of free/reduced lunches

Shelters

Social service agencies

All donations stay local—supporting the same communities where they are collected.

“Santa always brings socks and underwear—especially for kids who think they’ve stopped believing. Sometimes, that’s just what they need to believe again.”

Autism Support Program

Santa America offers sensory-friendly Santa visits for children on the autism spectrum. These are:

Pre-scheduled

Calm, quiet, and unrushed

Designed to avoid overstimulation common in malls or retail events

All Santas receive specialized training to ensure each visit is a positive and respectful experience for both the child and their family.

PTSD Support for Children

In partnership with the American Red Cross and local disaster response teams, Santa America provides emotional support to children affected by natural disasters and traumatic events.

Our volunteers are trained to:

Offer comfort during crisis recovery

Bring consistency and reassurance during uncertain times

Love, Hope, and Joy help these children begin healing and returning to a sense of normalcy.

Hospice and Hospital Visits

Every Santa America volunteer:

Is HIPAA-compliant and receives NCQA-level background checks

Is trained to understand and respect medical conditions

Coordinates closely with hospital staff, social workers, and hospice professionals

Santa prepares for each visit by learning about:

The child’s favorite things (toys, food, superheroes, traditions)

The family’s preferences and sensitivities

Gifts may include a scarf, small symbolic tokens, or gifts from loved ones. Most importantly, Santa brings his most powerful gifts: Love, Hope, and Joy.

“Once Santa visits a child, he returns again and again. Many of our Santas have been part of a family’s life for over 7 years.”

Military & Wounded Warrior Support

Santa America proudly serves military families across the U.S. and abroad, in partnership with:

U.S. Army Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command

Wounded Warrior Programs

VA Hospitals, USOs, and military bases

Santa visits:

During deployments and homecomings

At schools, hospitals, PX events, and family services

With wounded warriors and veterans, offering one-on-one support

“Santa America Santas are the Navy SEALs of the Santa World.”

Military Santas wear custom uniforms inspired by military fatigues and represent their “unit” with pride and compassion.

Create Dreams With Us

Santa America relies on generous individuals and volunteers to keep Santa in his sleigh, visiting children wherever he’s needed—365 days a year.

Whether it’s a bedside visit, a moment of comfort after disaster, or a smile shared across the miles with a military family—Love, Hope, and Joy are always at the heart of what we do.

Join us in lighting up lives across America.
